Default Which pet in T8 heroic content?

Rather quick question, has anyone compared an aa setup for scout pet and one for mage pet in heroic T8 content?
I.e. Korucust, CoA, Vaults, Chelsith, Maiden's.
What about the lowest T8 raids?

I mean dps-wise of course. Since higher tier raids apprently make the mage pet setup pretty much mandatory, I'd like to know if it makes sense to stay at the scout pet until I get beyond the 1-2 T8.1 raids every 2 weeks

Default Re: Which pet in T8 heroic content?

In most heroic instances I use scout pet and I'm not spec'd at all for scout pet. Single target mobs it still does more DPS than mage.

Exception would be Vaults because it has quite a few group encounters. Depending on your group's pulling speed you may not have time to cast/rebuff a new pet for single targets. Then just stick with your mage for this zone and take the dps hit for the single mob encounters.

Group makeup determines your selection as well, if you have a bard - what kind? Troub use mage, Dirge use scout.

Either way dont plan on owning the parse if you have good melee dps classes in the group on 10 second fights. Just isnt going to happen.

Tier 1 raid zones its up to you, scout pet will do more dps on single mobs but normally you have a Troub in your group so its missing out on Aria/Precision procs. All depends on your playstyle and spec. Call me lazy but I'll just roll with my mage on raids and make a decision on which pet to use for an instance based on my group makeup / zone. YMMV
