Not certain what the cap is for spell damage mod, but I'm sitting fairly pretty on 900 at the moment; last I heard, it was being insinuated that ~800 the bonus for spell damage peters out. I'm contemplating taking the 80 point hit and grabbing the Aramid slippers for the plus three spell crit (though I'm already at 70% spell crit, thus far,) plus two spell crit mit, and the three pieces bonus (Got shoulders and gloves right now.)

So far I've not seen or heard of anything useful out of the intances, and I heartedly doubt I'll be raiding any of the TSO zones.

Since y'all are more wise and learned than I - Subjectively speaking, of course - I'm wondering on the general thoughts: The solid old Phantom Boots of the Wastes from RoK, or the butt-reamingly ugly Aramid Slippers of the Voidcaller?

keep in mind that with all the new base dmg items that +spell cap is going to go up quite a bit even for the smallest nukes.

with chocker & t2 legendary shoulders and M1 spells:

at 1050 BoE, it's wasted only on lower end of Rot. next in line to drop off i believe is Drain, but not for another +100 for sure. this is one of those things that you don't have to listen to "wiser" ppl on - test it yourself, because the correct answer truly depends on your gear and spell ranks.

examine the spell, add or subtract +BoE such that you're not adding or subtracting +base damage or a lot of INT at same time, examine spell again. Horse and magma drink are best choices for these tests. Don't forget another 10% base on a raid with mythical Troub.

BoE is going to be useful to about 1500, after which I believe only Coil is going to be getting it. But you always have to ask yourself about the relative value to, say, crit, not whether it's useful. that's a significantly harder calculation and I hope someone has enough boredom and ability to create a spreadsheet for it, but fan-based tools are mostly non-existant for this game.

on a slightly different note, boots + shoulders + gloves is not the 3pc you want to have. shoulders + pants should be your first 2 choices.

Well I grabbed the gloves because it was comparable to what I had before PLUS nice extra stuff (was toting Sorcerous Gloves.) Forgot what I had before the aramid shoulders, tbh, but it was clearly something poor enough to make me want to grind a godawful number of shards... Pants though? Hmm. I'm guessing the percentage increase to pet crits and such makes up for the 90 point damage loss (Wearing Fatalisis Leggings right now.)

All this techno-mathematic voodoo makes my brain queasy, but it's interesting to note that while 800-900 before was good before, it's now up to 1500? Geezum crow, I'm going to have to farm the Hell out of Bazzul for that 100 point charm.

the +115BoE to pet on the pants is just as good as +115BoE to your own damage, and in fact, possibly even better if your own BoE is hitting a cap or two. t2 gloves are just "so-so" and there are at least 2 Legendary alternatives in easy TSO instances that are nearly as good - difference of at most 1 crit. Not to mention Dark Mail Gaunts blow away shard ones, albeit they're a bit more hassle to get.

you misread what i said about 1.5k BoE. or may be just the techno-mathematic voodoo is getting to your brain - i recommend a tin-foil hat as protection.

What is the best 3 peices to go with for the t1 stuff? Atm i have the adamintine cap with 125 boe for pet, got the t1 shoulders rok set boots and pants, sorc gloves and t1 gloves. Just trying to get everyone elses thought on what to wear to get a lil boost in dps.

imo ideal setup, disregarding avatar+ loot and if you don't have SoH hat:
boots + forearms from VP
shoulders + pants + hat t2 shard

edit: i have no idea what is the +125 pet BoE hat. link?

t2 shard boots are actually really nice, possibly even nicer than t2 hat, but not nice enough to lose 2pc VP bonus, and unless you have SoH hat the t2 hat is a much better improvement over Fuschia than t2 boots over VP boots.
