I can't seem to get this working. I keep getting a message:

You cannot name your pet 'Foobie'.

I have tried /petname and right clicking and using pet options.
Have tried resummoning, trying to rename all 3 pets, nothing. Was this changed, I see some people with pets named as them and it makes parses a bit easier.

that means your name has been considered 'against the eula' and specifically blocked, most likely. if someone reports your characters name it will be changed for you.

So I should find someone to report me and figure out what new name I want... go figure. It sounded unoffensive and I got to 80 without offending anyone

it might just be a portion of the name, you could probably figure out which portion, but yeah it sounds like its filtered.

Had this happen to someone I was guilded with. Name was Pist, one day he couldn't name his pet after himself. Someone must've reported his name and in SoE's infinite wisdom they didn't allow the name Pist for a pet anymore, but they never changed the toon's name. Guy really didn't want to change his name, but after several petitions that was his only choice.

So long story short, file a petition for a name change and tell them why.

for parsing reasons i was told to change mine to my name, and it says your next summoned pet will be named wyrmer, but every time it's back to the name i had for the pet

Right click the pet, or the pet window, and set the name inside the pet options dialog. This would also override whatever you have with /petname.

I name my pet same as the zerker just to piss off the scouts when he's higher on the parse...
