Default Pet Question

Fellow Necros,

New to the world of summoners (necro).

I am currently lvl 30.
I am unclear the difference in what each pet does, that is differnt than the other pets.

Is there a website describing the best/worst times to use a sepcific pet.

ie tanking pet, dps pet?

I usually use the skele pet, since i roll around as a skele, it jsut looks cool.

Tank pet- Lv 24/38/52/66/77. Used basically at all times when soloing or ghetto tanking for a group. It has far more hps and aggro skills to keep the mob away from you than other 2. Only possible situation I can imagine soloing with scout/mage pet sub 80 would be if you're killing green cons like 9 levels below you and you can kill them so fast they never even hit back.

Scout pet- Lv 32/46/60/73. Single target dps pet. Sub 80 you can use this pet probably the majority of time when in groups. It casts faster than warlock pet and if you have good dps in group, the fights will be so short that the caster pet will hardly get off an attack before the mob is dead. Used especially when your fighting ^^^ single target mobs and when you have have a dirge in group.

Warlock pet- Lv 20/34/48/62/75. Your caster pet and used in groups sub 80 especially when you are fighting larger linked encounters of 2 or more mobs (because the warlock pet has AE spells that will hit them all) and when you have a troubador in group because the pet will get the good caster buffs he gives out.

The reason why I say sub 80 for pet use is simply because at 80 the warlock pet does start to gain some ground on the scout, especially in raids as I like the mage Int AA line far more, and in raids you typically will be in a group with a troub. Then (which is far far away for you but still thought it was worth mentioning) if you can get your mythical weapon, you can summon a warlock pet with it that will make your scout pet completely and absoloutly useless.

It's rough being a necro atm, but at least the current situation has removed one of the things I had previously disliked about being a necro. Used to be if you checked the population with /who all necros were second only to maybe furies, now the other night I checked one evening and there were more illys, more coercers, more dirges, and more troubs than necros.

Sorry to hijack this thread but I have a question as well regarding the pets. Are the abilities of the for example level 38 tankpet different from the level 24 one?

Yeah, and it makes me wanna strangle my tank pet when he casts it from distance instead of running head first into mobs and triggering shockwave.
