Default Looking for improvement suggestions

Been scanning thru the forums since I came back to eq2 just looking for overall suggestions. Some of which I have found helpful some not but overall feel good enough about most what I've read to see to post a question to see what everyone can suggest. I hit 80 the last week of Jan and since that point have been working hard to gear up and optimize. I'm looking to get my parse up further and right now I'm really happy with my cast order aa lines and don't think any problems lie in that area. Right now I'm running with 189aas and trying to figure out what I should focus on to up my parses. In groups without buffs I generally parse avg of 5k, in raid 6-8 even with a blah group makeup. I'm new to my guild so not getting all the best buffs every raid but see a good 10-11k parse usually at least once a day sometimes even in groups(with good group setup). Where I'm running into a debate with myself is should i focus more on crit or more on spell mod at this point. Crit is sitting at 79-82% self buffed depending upon whether I wear my choker or the tears and dream neck piece. Spell mod is only at 600 though so not sure which I should be working on more at this point. (Just got my vp boot pattern today so crit will go up more when my guild leader returns from vaca and get the gems to make them, but mod will be even lower at 560 and crit at 83-86%) I've taken off some pieces to up my spell mod or I could have my crit over 90%. So their-in lies my dilemma. Any suggestions would be welcome as I'm always welcome to try it out. Avg dummy parse looks like this w/o horde or lifeburn:

training dummy: (00:41) 201918 | 4924.83 [Villith-Wrath of the Undead Servant-7584]
Villith 201918 | 4924.83
Villith's imp pack 0 | 0.00
Villith's grave disturbance 0 | 0.00

To see what I'm running for gear here is my eq2 player:

Thanks in advance

Try to get the wrist from PoF and change out your second charm to something with a damage proc.. dont need power

If you run SoH get WWoM and Blackened band.. you should be set

I have since replaced the orator's charm piece with the vampire bane charm from the lp zones. Not sure why that hasn't updated but still rather curious what people think about whether i should up the spell crit or damage mod more at this point. Have all the gear I want on a wish list so know what I'm looking for endgame-wise just trying to see what I should do to optimize in the meantime. Still haven't seen the wrist from pof drop yet and I run that often

1% crit goes a long way for us.

Hypothetically, say you're parsing 8000dps consistantly without your pet or lifeburn/undead horde and you are at 79% crit from gear & AA, have 12% crit from a troub, and 4% from elixir of second sight.

Then adding 1 crit, would gain 84dps.
If you're casting 1 spell every 2 seconds, that would require more than 160 damage to every spell you cast.
To be genereous, lets say you're averaging a crit multiplier of 1.5.
Then assuming you didn't have any AE's or lifetaps in your spell rotation, you'ld only need around 105 additional spell damage to make up for that +1 crit.

Of course, that BoE number drops significantly if you're soloing, since you don't have all sorts of things like precise note, dissonant note, ice lash, peace of mind, etc all benifitting from +spell crit.

So, imo, try for 100% crit raid buffed, then stack on spell damage if you can't find gear with crit bonus, arcane recovery, procs or other goodies.

Ok thanks for the suggestions i have more than a few pieces of increased crit gear but have been trying to balance out crit and spell mod. I wasn't sure if I would get better results with more of a balance or a lot more crit which i can easily switch gear around for just will drop a lot more in my spell mod.

Just tested it out a bit to see if I got a difference out of it. Could get my crit even higher but would lose my ring of lost souls which I would lose more than I would gain with 3 mor crit. Wtih new setup I'm running between 84 and 87 crit depending on choker. Average parse stayed around the same and my damage mod dropped down to 465. Last couple of parses looked like this:

training dummy: (00:40) 201145 | 5028.63 [Villith-Drain Life-6077]
Villith 201145 | 5028.63
Villith's imp pack 0 | 0.00
Villith's grave disturbance 0 | 0.00

So it looks to hold true that the crit increase more than made up for a significant loss in spell mod. Thanks for the help I'll just keep on working on farming gear as I have been, but if anyone else has some feedback it would be appreciated

Have you compared the difference between Bloodthirsty Choker and Tears and Dreams? I'm curious because I'm getting very tired of SoF...

Its nice to use, its not a bad replacement when I can't use my choker(bad heals, raid responsibilities like for statues shinies etc). There def is a difference in the dps but if you can't get the choker its a nice pice to use by all means. But honestly the pet buffs don't compare to a 10% increase your base damage. With the same gear I was running with other parses you can see it is nice on damage but you still get less dps out of it then when you use the bloodthirsty. But it is prob the next best thing I'm able to get atm when I'm unable to use it, a lot of times if I'm ripping aggro which happens a lot in pugs for me thats the first thing I change up then make adjustments from there if its still a problem.

training dummy: (00:42) 200937 | 4784.21 [Villith-Drain Life-5701]
Villith 200937 | 4784.21
Villith's imp pack 0 | 0.00
Villith's grave disturbance 0 | 0.00

As you can see the extra crit and pet buffs definately don't make it on par but definetly comes close.

I seldom post on eq2flames. However I feel compelled to give you a couple of very important pointers that most peeps neglect.

Experiment, Learn and Understand your parse program and how it reacts to your damage done from you and your pet(s).

As far as the chocker goes? You can kind of compare dps to real estate. The 3 most important elements Real Estate are ????
Location, Location and.......Location.
The 3 most important elements to dps is ????
Base Damage, Base Damage and....... Base Damage.

Personally, I have healers that dont allow me to hit 0 on LB
So dont have to worry about my Chocker.

Worst comes to worst, equip and unequip accordingly when you use LB as far as your Chocker goes.

Your Spell Crit is real soft and should be at least 100 self buffed. Optimal is 120 raid buffed.

Spell Mod at 600 is pretty good as that will cover the max on most of your spells that you should be using. Obviously more would be nice but it is a trade off with the gear that you have. Also Sathirian Scrolls of Combat are nice and arent that expensive if you shop daily for smoldering mat'ls and have a guildy make them for you.

Again I understand what the best gear out there is and am hunting for it daily. Believe me I understand my class etc I'm just asking for advice until i have my wish list filled. I hit the dummy often with all sorts of configs, but am at a standstilll with my dps as you can see with the pieces I currently have. If you read what my question actually asked was until I get my dream gear what should I focus to optimize in the meantime.
