Default spell dmg bonus / dots question

how does spell dmg bonus figure in with dots ?

say a dot overtime does 1k , and i have 300 spell dmg bonus ...does that make the dot do 1300 overall ??

It increases the initial tic.

Sum up all the ticks it does, that's it's base damage. It can get as much as 50% of that in spell mod. That means that in your figure, it would do 1000 over time + 300 in the first tick, added to the base tick.

What the above said. You take the total damage over time, and that's the base damage. Spell damage applies to the initial tick.

Does the bonus spell dmg from VP pieces work differently?

Like "Focus: Bloodcoil" for example.

Those bonuses increase the base amount and raise the spell damage cap for that particular spell.

Just curious. What about the VP4 set bonus, which increases the damage of Demilich by... 45? Worth anything before you can get TSO raid gear?

The only pieces worth keeping to make up that 4 set would be boots, forearms, robe and pants. Do I recommend it? meh I think there are some better options out there, however 2 set def worth keeping until then.
