I am looking for information regarding DPS and AA configuration for raiding Necromancers. It would be nice to get something as detailed and helpful as:

I would however settle for anyone that can specifically state what is best .. and more importantly .. why it is the best. Most other classes seem to have at least one person capable and willing to share their expertise. I certainly hope this is true for necromancer as well.

necros don't have enough dmg spells to justify a casting order, wiz on the other hand have many spells that they don't cast because they would actually loose dps if they did.

there are many casting orders thru out this section feel free to browse and you will find them.

Utopi (who is prob one of the best if not the best raiding necro WW) has a nice screen shot of his spec here. You won't have that many AA's prob but work towards that. For cast order I just use rot-coil-drain life-rot-pandemic and repeat, throwing up consumption whenever its up and maybe a swarm pet if I'm getting bored. That's fairly simplified and there may be variations but I'm not gonna write a thesis paper on how to raid a necro.

I was just looking for such a post when I read this one and then looked at Utopi's setup. I joined a new guild that raids more frequently and I am concerned my DPS is not on par, one step from Mythical as wellso that should provide some additional benefit.

Necro dps casting is dead simple, to be honest. There are your 3 primary spells: rot, coil, tap. You'll want to cast them as much as possible. However, even the best order will give some downtime (unless JCap'd), so you have to throw in a filler spell, which usually is either pandemic or bloodcloud, depending on targets. Dumbfire pets also make for decent fillers (from a timing perspective) if you feel like casting them.

This boils down to rot, tap, rot, coil, filler. Remember to throw in Gluttony and you'll be doing as much as you can.

macro spam coil, rot, tap, pandemic: using the 1 hotkey is best.


when you need to heart,rez,undead tide, gluttony, use your mouse and puase your spammage thus creating zero down time.. after a while quit playign necro and go to a class people would rather have around

its awesome for queued spells and assiting the MT when he targets the next mob.. lots of LULZ to be had..


To this day Titanite hasn't figured that out from the KOS days.
