Default Research Assistants & Master Spells

Hypothesis: you have all spells at adept III level, no masters at all.*

1. what is you favorite choice for the master II selection at lvl75?

2. which 5 in what order are your choice to enhance to M1 asap?

ty!

*remark: this is just for making it comparable for all of us... doesn't make much sense if everyone asks separately depending on what he already has at master level imo. ;)

Default Re: Research Assistants & Master Spells

1) Bloodcoil

2) Undead Knight/Grim Sorceror (depending on play style), Grisly Protection/Howl from Beyond (depending on play style), Soulrot, Drain Life and then probably Demilich (or maybe Pandemic).

Well that's what I would do, but I'm sure there are more experienced Necromancers who might disagree!

I'm researching Drain Life cause I've never once seen it drop or FS on the broker.

this is probably the most useful research.
It's virtually impossible to find our master snare
I'm waiting for a while to research it though.

1) i think everyone agrees bloodcoil is the best choice, because it is the most used (and arguably most useful) out of all the choices.

2) my 5 picks:
Demi Lich > Soulrot > Drain Life > Undead Tide > Dooming Darkness

i haven't seen soulrot ever

Necro's snare is almost useless, why bother?

I'd speculate nearly everyone chooses bloodcoil as grandmaster.

the snare is indeed useless, and doesnt really get any better then it was at expert (altho i use it a lot when soloing, right after a rootbreak or fear so my mob doesnt bring friends)

but even at raids i find myself casting it quite frequently because it is such a quick casting spell

my choices where either:
-Rending (utterly useless and i will see it drop someday on a raid)
-Raid wide hearts (since i have single target master hearts i will leave this at expert since everyone in raid can have 2 hearts in inventory since patch (one expert and one master)
-Dooming Darkness (easy choice)

and i think Soulrot is your best choice if u dont have it.

coil is an easy decision prior to TSO, but since there are actually group encounters in the game, bloodcloud could make an argument for m2 choice

your big hitters need mastered, soulrot, bloodcoil, bloodcloud, drain, anything that does damage. the pet buffs will be secondary, the snare is a joke if you master that please quit now. Well that is unless you just don't have anything else to select.

I'm going for Undead Knight first, then the DPS line as Sabutai mentions above. There's no point in getting the Mage pet as sooner or later I'll get the Mythical pet anyhow [only Leviathan / Nexona for that.] Alternatively there's always going to be the new pets available in the next expansion. The next tier Mage pet might well be superior to the Mythical.
