The only Lifeburn that starting hp affects (other than survival) is the one in EQ1, which would drain your life and do a straight amount of damage to a mob equal to your hp.
That's why after you get bolster, you get healed. Lifeburn depends on your HP at the time the spell goes off. You need to test it. What damage the mob does to you has no effect. You need to re-test your lifeburn. Grab a mystic and get bolstered before you cast, then get healed as it goes off. I don't know how else to explain this, but that's how it works. Just test it.

Yeah, what Deadberry said. Your HP does matter. If you have 10k HP, you have the potential to do 10k dmg every second for 10 seconds as long as you are getting the proper heals.

It's why HP buffs and shit like bolster are great for lifeburning.

What the fuck do you mean it doesn't tick? It ticks just like other dots do. It ticks once per second for 10 seconds.

As for the original poster, this is exactly why you aren't doing the full damage.

I hope i can explain it to you :

Your hp 10k. You hit Lifeburn wich means you make 10k damage every second AS LONG AS YOU HAVE min. 2k+1hp. You loose 2k hp ervery second wich also would mean you are out of life after 5secs (without healings). If your healers keep healing you (more than 2khp) for 5 more seconds you have done 100k damage. If they dont, LB does not tick further to the full 10k damage anymore cause you dont have 2k hp left. LB starts calculating new amount of damage for the next ticks aso. until the 10secs of the spell passed

The damage you make are only equal to your hp (the moment LB hits the first time) if all full ticks of LB do not steal more than 60% of your enemies hp (thats max hp LB can steal from heroics or less)

Good explanation. Maybe he'll be able to understand now.

Just one correction. LB reuse timer starts when spell is expired (not like most other spells, when it starts when you cast). So your troubs have about 10-15s to cast JC on you (i assume you have macro with warning *blah blah LB in 5s*).

As about buffs... my personal best on LB was about 160k.

P.S.
That Morara is clueless.

The amount of hp you have at the start of the lifeburn is directly connected to how much damage it does per tick. Throw up an hp potion, unstoppable soul, get a bolster from a mystic if you can, and hit lifeburn. What I've noticed on raids is that every tick it will take away 1/5 of my health and hit the mob for exactly what current health is. (1/5 of my health X 5 for each hp).

Your lifeburn isnt bugged, just like everyone else said, get some heals.

Dont pay attention to anything written in that post. Its all wrong.
