Re: Treyloth
And of course I find it immediately after making a post....
I'm guessing this is still true?
Quote:
FTH is a broken zone for AOE's in some respects to how people are used to them. Almost all the AOE's are player-based. In all honesty, you'd probably be better off using /pet melee with the mage pet in FTH than /pet ranged.
For example, the first named werewolf's AOE does no effect pets at all, it is entirely player based. You can test this for yourself by having you mage pet just straight in melee'ing and he'll still be untouched at the end.
Same with Treyloth's AOE's except for reaching rot. You can just have your pet melee and he'll be untouched the entire fight. If he's too far back, though, he'll get hit by reaching rot.
And finally the coffins on Malkonis. If you blow one up, your pet won't take any damage because it's player-based as well. This is also why Bladedance and other AOE immunities are useless in FTH.
That being said, the ooze crawler doesn't have a higher survivability than the mage pet or any other pet to AOE's. You were probably fighting Treyloth and her pet got hit by reaching rot.
IMO, the only people taking the ooze pet are ones who are not in high-end raiding guilds because all high end raiding guilds know the value of constant ranged DPS and the new found commonality of AOE's that cannot be jousted.
My spec is:
STR 4 4 4 8
INT 6 4 4 8 2
WIS 4 1
Lifeburn
3 pet heal, 2 hearts, 5 exchange life, 5 consumption, 5 rezz, blood pact
3 fast root, 1 dispell
