How much damage should the mage pet be doing at lvl 90 ? I have looked at the numbers and mine seems to be at 3.5K to 4K.. Is that about right ?

it does not matter.
other then equipment with some pet focus, there is nothing(flayers soul is a joke) a necro can do to directly boost pet damage ( keeping him alive and los are a given ) unlike conj pet buffs.


necro > pet
if you find some cool gear that also has some pet focus equip it but necro dps still depends on the summoner not the pet.

Not true. That kind of math is entirely dependant on the skill level of the necro, much less factoring in group setups (ie how much proccing buffs are coming in from piece of mind, netherrealm, PotM and the like).

Also very dependant on the gear you choose to wear...if you focus your 90s gear towards stuff that makes the pet hit hard, rather than yourself, for example. I've heard that since most necro's have realized that the main portion of dps comes from the caster and not the pet, that a lot of them choose to buff themselves first, pet second, for example.

Actually 1/3 is kinda stretching it depending on how the necro is geared, I am more inclined to say between 25-30% of overall DPS. Until we can support the pet like conjurors can (ie Plane Shift etc.) and have Elemental Blast type pet abilities, the pet will be a small portion of overall damage. The pet has a few decent hits (AA abilities), however they are such long recasts they are minor in the long run.

The necro is a half-baked DOT sorcerer with several minions to do his bidding. Although most of the minions do not translate well especially in raid settings. The conjuror is the only "true" pet class and they are reaping the benefits right now with the current itemization of SoF. Don't get me wrong some of the pet gear is nice for necro as well, however it is no where near the same potential benefits.

Necros need to stop trying to gear themselves as conjurors, once they figure that out thier parses will improve. If you are doing what your suppose to: applying DOTS and spamming Soulrot, your pet will continue to be a minor part of your DPS.

My pet doing about 20-40% of my DPS. It depends on group.

In raid gear my pet is about 30-35% of my DPS. I havent' parsed it in BG gear.

Is anyone ask illy to cast tandem on pet?

I get Synergism on my necro sometimes but not my pet.
