It honestly depends on how long the fight is. Generally in solo or group play, mobs die in ~10-15 seconds (sometimes even less). I can usually get off maybe 4-6 spellcasts. I'm gonna go for the big ones first, and fill in with little ones between cast times. I can see how torrential, with its larger per-hit number would make for more dps over a longer period if the mobs simply are not standing long enough to get the full benefit out of deathrot.

Re: Been a while, would like some advice
death rot is 152-200 disease every 0.3 seconds for 1.5 seconds
torrential pestilence is 190-230 disease every 1.7 seconds for 7.0 seconds

Re: Been a while, would like some advice
Since we got some of the techies here, just gonna throw a question in. Does BoE effect procs, or just casted spells? Reason I ask, is i'm setting up all my hotkeys to setup a macro system of exchanging gear in and out based off of bonuses from the piece per spell. Just curious between a BoE 40 piece and Disease Cloud 50 to have on for the casts that have no bonuses from gear. I know its a bit tedious, but w/ the ease of the new macro system, why not?

Casted Spells only. Procs are considered 0.0s cast-time spells and so any of the "up to" shit does nothing to them.
Also, you may not want to macro every piece of gear around, because as you get too many, you'll end up with too much problems with the whole 3-s between switching a piece of gear in-combat. Best to just use it for switching your BP and legs for the relic/eof set piece bonuses.

Thnx Pinski. I am going to be limiting myself to just the bp/legs swapping. Unfortunately I never played my necro during KoS, and we rarely do any of those zones anymore, so hard to get my hands on relic atm. Thnx again.

Yep and if you have the Necro robe the difference is even larger.

The necro robe rocks as well as the santurnine silk ensemble (sp?) from EH.

The Necro robe is way better. Overall better stats, int, hp's, sta, power. It is a flat 40 increase unlike the Saturnine Silk Ensemble where the disease is "up to 50".
The robe is easier to get most likely with the random spawn not always being up.
