Agreed. Not only does the mage do nice DPS, but the tank pet can't hold aggro for shit. Since I don't raid on my necro any more, I've tried specc'ing to a complete solo build with STA line in KOS and tainted heals in EoF, and it still sucked when compared to just tanking the mobs yourself and using the mage or root/nuking.
The only difference between my specc's now and when I was raiding on my necro is I have 8 in parry, but other than that it's the same. It's just must easier and faster using the mage pet.
