If you don't raid, you're dead in the water. The entire EQ2 game is geared around raiding and becoming a raider and being made to feel like shit with hilariously bad gear if you don't. The solo game is FedEx type of solo, not Final Fantasy VII type of solo. You could craft and harvest but you'd get more entertainment for free from solitaire and minesweeper.
