How is the game faring?

I logged in for the first time in close to a year mainly just to see what my new notebooks crappy graphics processor could do with the game... surprisingly not bad... but I digress.

I noticed my fabled class gear was unequipped and not attuneable and I assume tradeable? Interesting. So have there be any further server consolidations? How is the server load? Who is the baddest guild on the server? Any new content worth playing?

heirloom = tradeable within your account

PVP servers were just consolidated, but fuck them anyway they are homos

Sever load is fine, though people bitch incessantly about not finding groups (typically people who have no friends, I'm assuming)

Baddest guild on server is definitely [Ikcaruss' Daughter]

And for those of us who never left, the answer to your 'new content worth playing' is pretty much yes, as we're playing it.

I should have been clearer, is the non-raid content worth playing? Have they added in more group and/or solo content? For the raiders there is always a reason to raid... more gear, pimping alts, etc. What about the casual player? Have they been pushing new content out periodically?

Maybe I'll need to spend a little time next weekend rediscovering Norrath. Thanks for the update.

They did bring in 20 more instances with TSO plus a whole series of reasons (shards) to farm the instances for gear drops and to earn shards which allow you to buy 'quasi-raid' level armor pieces.

I've never enjoyed questing, so the TSO addition of about 100 quests was just right for me. Something to help you explore the area you'll never go into again unless it's on the way to an instance.

They added their first every homozone, which drops only appearance gear for those people who are obsessed with dressing their polly pocket dolls.

I would say at 20 hours per week I was done with most of this content in 3 months, so if you played 10 hours per week I'd think you have 6 months of stuff to do? (just a guess)

First of all its not yet almost done...theres about another what, week and a half till the 27th championship (knock on wood)? And second, damnit dude, forget this Gym you speak of...will it be there to help you hone your skills at a game which has seen its better days, but still provides endless hours of fun and frustration for those who are left playing it? No! A Gym will only help you get into better shape, so you can live longer, and suck more at EQ2!
