Personally I find LOL to be the gayest thing. What's worse is someone who uses it 3 or four times in a sentence. LOL did you see that LOL? Totally idiotic.

FTFY used to really get me. Had to use Urban Dictionary to figure that one out.

I try to only LOL when Im actually, uh, LOLing. Otherwise it defeats the purpose. though SOL (snicker out loud) or GV (grinning vaguely) woud usually work better.

My new favorite abbreviation is from the UK and is 'cba' ... "can't be arsed", which even defined im not sure wth it means. ;)

Hehe funny how some of these are obvious to some and have others completely stumped.

Was having the same convo with a guildie just the other day - they also got stuck on AFAIK - but the one that I took the longest to figure was FTLOG.

Also there is the problem of the ones which mean different things to different people - imagine the potential disaster when about to pull a tough mob, and asking everyone if they are ready - reply comes back of GTG - meaning "good to go" for most - but this person actually meant "Got to Go" - kinda opposite meaning really when about to pull ;p
