1) We plan to roll on a PvP server and we understand that AA's are a huge part of pvp and that locking your combat XP is adviced. But if you don't lock your combat xp what will happen to you later on? Can you choose to lock later in the game and regain the AA's you've missed? Lets say that you were to blast through tier 1/2 and then start farming AA's at 30 or even 40 instead?
2) Can a new player catch up with the twinked t2 and t3's with only tradeskilled gear? In old EQ the low level craftables could not compare to items like fungi tunic and suchlike.
3) Which PvP is the most active? The lower tiered PvP or the t7? Also, how long does it take to reach max level compared to EQ1 - if it takes as long to reach 70 as it did there neither of us can be bothered with it.
4) Is locking only common in tier 2-3? Once you're beyond that point you'll be on par with most people until you start getting near 70?
- If anyone would care to answer theese questions that'd be greatly appriciated!

I think your questions come down to this:
What is the best level to lock combat to maximize AAs, so that you have max AAs at the same time you are level capped for exp.
I'd like the answer to this also. I personally hate the T2 game, it's all fully fabled and mastered twinks in full groups rolling newer players who have crap gear and not even all equip slots filled.
I'm 24 now on the two toons I'm leveling, and would like to figure out the best leveling/questing strat for getting a large pool of AAs built up first before I level to the cap, for the purpose of making exping and PVPing easier along the way.
