If you want to join a guild and raid in the end game of EQ2, you'll be happier with a Berzerker.
I have a 70 SK on Kithicor that I started the first day EQ2 went live. I also have a SK on Nagafen, where I recently restarted.
I love my SK, and think it is the funnest and in some limited ways among the most powerful tank class of all, especially for soloing and grouping.
But, regardless of recent improvements, SK is just not a class that's needed much at raids, and is one that is easily replaceable with other tank classes.
I like to two box, so I make a SK as my personal group tank, and a defiler as my healer. Then, I raid on the defiler, and use the SK for two boxing and farming. To me, that combo is fun as hell.
So my suggestion is, before you go dumping all that time into a character, decide if you are going to want to participate in the high end game. If so, I strongly encourage you to start a Zerk or Guard rather than a SK.
