Re: Best solo class
An experienced player is the best solo class. Pretty fuckin simple.
I've brought up multiple toons from every archetype save scout. Every class has it's strengths. As well as weaknesses. Study your character, and the game

Re: Best solo class
For sheer versatility in soloing, coercer. Coercer can take on anything solo providing that a) they can get a pet (rarely a problem) and b) the mob isn't an epic or otherwise immune to mez. They're not not always the fastest at killing or getting around, sure, but they can pull off some stuff that would just spank an illy or anyone else.
(Don't let people tell you that the chance for charm to break ruins the class. It sucks, sure, but without that random chance to get totally owned, coercers would be way too powerful solo.)
Too bad coercers are so lacking when it comes to groups and raids. But if you want a pure solo ownage class, coercer is it.

Re: Best solo class
Well, to my oppinion best solo class in game is a necro.
A class that gets even better while lvling.
My necro is 77 by now and can solo almost every heroic (named ones as well) my level or sometimes 1-2 lvls higher. I have also and illusionist lvl 70, a mystic lvl 70 and a fury lvl 66 and 3 lower lvl toons.
Necro has almost unlimited mana (with lich spell) but what realy makes the difference is how you spend your AA points.
If you choose from the first AA tab the line that boosts your pets life (8 points spend) and from the second tab the line that ends to add to your manipulation spells the ability to heal your tank pet while debuffing/root/stun your enemies you will end with 6 spells that (at my lvl) heals your pet for 3350 HP with every manipulation spell you cast .. !!! and with a quite fast recast time.
If you add to this the ability to charm (in some zones) an extra .. dead mob (skeletons etc) as a second pet and the faint death ability if everything goes wrong, I dont see any other class that can do all these in a solo playing style.
Also in groups necros with the endless mana and with Life burn spell can do a significant amount of damage and with the 2 extra pets (warlock/scout) you can choose from are hard to compare to any other class.
Add to all this the ability to revive ppl and heal other players and if any other class can do all these ... just let me know who can as to start a new toon imediately

Re: Best solo class
If you absolutely hate to die, and want to solo with the best possible kills to death ratio nothing beats a templar. IF you know how to setup a templar, they can do decent solo dps, way more than a warden, don't require anything fancy like roots. You just go up turn on melee, stand nuke and heal, with immunity to interupts aa, spell casting haste wearing plate the class remains extremely stable vs pretty much anything. While mana will remain a slight issue at lower level, high lvl templars can get items where the only way to run out of power it sprinting making them amazing high end soloers. But even low end templar soloing can remain very decent as long as you spec aa right.
BTW templar and fury dps are pretty equal in high end gear, but in lower end setup furys do put out more dps.

Re: Best solo class
LOL templars can do 2k plus? i havent seen this yet.
As for the comment as to what class solo's best ive lvled
templar 1-70 and then betrayed to inquis which u can solo just takes long time
zerker 1-70 is ok if you know the class but its hard to do
dirge 1-70 not that great at soloing period
warlock and that was the easiest soloing i have ever done even more so then a summoner and i had a summoner up to mid 40's or 50's...
really just depends on the person, so i agree with the person who said this above

Re: Best solo class
(I have at least one char in every archetype at 70+ and I spend a lot of time soloing when I'm levelling a char)
Rogues are very good at soloing, both brigands and swashbucklers. For heroics swashbucklers might have a small upper hand over brigand, but it varies based on the mob etc and the skill and gear of the player.
If you REALLY want a melee class and you want optimal solo ability, a rogue is probably your best bet.
Here is my reasoning:
I would not really suggest warriors or crusaders, berserkers and SKs aren't too bad, but if ALL you want is soloing, they don't have the damage capacity as rogues. It's doable, and both warriors and crusaders can put out decent dps, but when it comes to solo mobs other classes simply burn them faster. In the lower levels, rangers can be a little iffy soloing. Once you're higher it gets better however. I would imagine the same goes for assassins due to the limitation of CAs and the importance of the big damage ones landing.
Both druids are very decent at soloing. As a warden, you'll probably be melee specced. Very safe with adds, etc, probably not *the best* at heroics, but possible with the right gear/setup/knowledge. Enchanters I would say are better than Summoners, if nothing else but due to mez. I don't play a Summoner, but I do know how many times mez has saved my illu while farming. (btw last I checked the illu pet takes 3 conc slots not four... not important but just FYI... coercer charm takes 3 as well)
/digress entirely
Didn't think you played anymore Aralas!

I agree with you Hennyo, Templars are over powered imo and can solo some crazy stuff (if played right and with ok gear), and now with the new ward, it makes it a whole lot better for owning at soloing

Templars DPS can be pretty amazing! Ive had a few 2600 dps parses while being in mage group pre RoK back when I use to raid (Third floor EH, so potentially could get higher if in a zone where there is undead). Templar's definitely give the Fury a run for their money zonewide, however, a Fury can spike a lot higher then a templar can (seen them hit over 3k+).

I'd agree if it weren't for the fact that both conjy and necro are squishy. Seriously squishy. We have the hit taking ability of a roll of wet tissue paper. At around 5.5K hp at 80, unless I put stoneskin up real fast, I'm good for around three or maybe four hits at most. If the pet didn't automatically defend me and get aggro off, I'd be be taking a dirt nap before I could hit the pet attack button half the time.
But yeah... Conjy = awesome soloer.
