Dehates give your xfered group member hate.

Fun fact : Put your hate transfer on an afk group mate, Evade pull a heroic ^^^ mob, evac once group member ( with transfer on ) dies. Point and laugh.

ya i am aware of that, thats called detaunt pulling

but that doesnt really give the target hate since you will get the aggro back with going into stealth (!)

so the thing is does being the MT-transfer using detaunts lower the hate on the tank?

I don't know that that's so much giving them hate as forcing them into the encounter, possibly with the -hate. I've wondered this myself for a long time and have usually erred on the side of caution - not using dehates like avoid censure while transferring to the tank, anyone have any better idea? Pinski? anyone?

Hate reducers (such as from a troub or coercer) work on the front end which would lower the amount of hate xfered to the tank. Detaunts (such as a scouts evade line or a brigands stay low line) work on the back end and only lower the scouts hate pool/position.

The numbers below are not exact and are just examples to make the math easier, but it will give you the general idea

With a hate reducer it would work like this:
tank builds up 900 points of hate (through either damage or taunts)scout does 1000 points of damage (1 point of damage = 1 point of hate)
scout has a 40% reducer applied to them from a troub
scout has a 10% hate transfer on the tank
scout has a 200 point detaunt

1000 - 400 = 600 <--amount of hate gained by scout with reducer applied.
600 - 60 = 540 <--amount of hate that scout ends up with after xfer
900 + 60 = 960 <--amount of hate that ends up in the tanks hate pool from himself and the xfer
540 - 200 = 340 <--amount of hate in the scouts hate pool after detaunt

Hate position just lowers you below the person immediately behind you on the hate list.

Example :

Tank A

Scout B

Scout C

Scout B uses a dehate position CA/spell, the new order is

Tank A

Scout C

Scout B

That's all a hate position reducer does. If your alrdy last on the hate list ( or the only one on the hate list ), then your hate position reducer effectively does nothing.

h/e most hate reducers have a hard - hate number attached to them, so they will reduce hate by one position and then an additional - hate of 1000 or so.

This is to prevent using the skill and then immediately getting aggro back. ( whihc would make the skill useless )

However Dehates ( like evade ) do in fact give a % of hate over to the person you have your transfer on. ( if you have a Transfer. )

Like the example I gave, the mob will go directly to your transfered target, and no one else. H/E if you take your transfer off and then evade pull a mob, it will go directly to you, and no one else. So a dehate does in fact transfer hate, but how much I don't know.

Also dehating with an Xfer on someone else doesn't force the the transfered person into combat at all, so your wrong on that one mendanbar.

What happens is this.

Tank A ( now has transfer on )

Scout B

Scout B evade pulls a mob, and because of his xfer, both Scout B and tank A are now on the mobs hate list. ( obviously or else the mob wouldn't go after the person with the transfer on )

Edit : On second thought I'm thinking maybe a dehate only tansfers hate over if the mobs hate list is blank. ( I.E pulling w/ evade )

Since there is nothing to dehate for when you pull with evade, I'm guessing in that sole instance, evade acts like a taunt then a dehate.

Who knows /shrug.

Someone test this shit lol.
