Re: choosing a class
Fury is good, not a lot of travel time once you start getting druid rings, good dps, all groups need healers
Not a melee heavy class, but it's still a solid pick for starting out

Re: choosing a class
inquisitor battle cleric spec would give him both in ur face and range at times granted inquis is not the most popular of healer but later on u could always go thimble head.

Re: choosing a class
Paladin -- you'll probably get stuck MTing a raid. /wink
It's my duty to waggle the Paladin banner anytime someone asks what class they should choose.
You may prefer playing a SK while soloing through your first few tiers but you can always betray over to the goodies when you want to tank EPIC stuff.
Pally is a pretty good fit for your criteria but, honestly looking over your list I totally agree with Fury as your favorite toon and probably a perfect fit. They wear weak and ugly armor for the most part but with HoTs they are surprisingly sturdy.
...and a melee crit machine Inq is a freggin good fit if you want melee over spells... hell everyone here has made great recommendations. I'm confident you'll find a winner in these 4 classes friend.

Re: choosing a class
Mystics are really durable and with a melee spec are great solo killing machines. With the buckler spec/double attack down the sta line you can use a buckler and still have great survivability. Throw in the str/dogdog line you have a ward plus a lil more dps. Its just abit slow untill you get the aa's in agi/sta and melee mystic lines but once you get those then its fun!

Re: choosing a class
Honestly the 2 most diverse classes in the game are Berserker, and Brigand. Depending on how you spec you can be max dps or tank. But for everything you asked for on your post I would honestly choose Brigand. They are very fun to level and always a welcome addition to any group.

Re: choosing a class
Nobody picked troub, that's pretty bad.

Re: choosing a class
shadowknight, melee warden, melee inquisitor, or melee mystic. all 4 are simply amazing soloers, great in groups, and are extremely versatile.
