In EQ1 I seem to recall AT was needed for raid encounters after Gates of Discord...I forget what the rest of the expansions were.

I cant remember if it was GoD or Omens of War but there was definitly and end zone raid mob that had an ae that checked off your AT.

My memory fails me but there was some traps i got hit by, or maybe a spell in eq2 that made me raise my alcohol tolerence..

Must wander around and try to found out when.. Not sure if having higher would have resisted it, but i did find it amusing at the time! It gave you the horribly drunk effect as well the trap/spell/whatever it was..
