Icon7 Missing craft recipes

Okay, so I started crafting--thought it was time and everyting's going fine. Finally figured out how that works and been buying the essentials books from the crafting master and the advanced books on the broker, sometimes for outrageous prices Now I've reached a new level and the advanced book is not available on the broker. What do I do? Is there any other way to get the recipes? Been looking for it for a few days and no-one is offering it. Aside from not getting the bonus for making items first time, I can't make them at all! Am I just out of luck until someone offers it for sale?

Or you can go kill the same level mobs as the book you want and try to get one to drop.

Mobs only drop the same level book as the level of the mob, i.e. if you want Advanced Alchemy 35, you're only going to find it on a level 35 mob. Same with the rest of the books and with master spells for the most part.

Well that's a new way to do it! Been playing for a few months now and this is the first time I heard that. That explains a lot--Thanks. I thought drops were totally random-- but they they actually have some logic behind them. I'll look for some mobs and maybe I'll get the book I need. Luckily the book is a much lower level so the kill will be easy too

Just to be on the safe side...What book is it specifically?

If I'm not mistaken there are some books that do not exist? This still the case?

It's advanced tailor volume 43. I have everything up to that and already accumulated vols 44 through 49. I think it does exist, but if I'm looking in vain that would be good to know.

Happy hunting.

Some books are insanely rare, for whatever reason. This was the case for me with Adv. Jeweler 28 and 29. The 28 I could somewhat understand since it contains the palladium bangle recipe needed for the HQ, but 29 is just spells or something. Both, when they appeared on the broker, would list for over 1p. Since I hate paying that much just to fuel my obsession to have all the advanced books, I tried farming them. I knew that level x mobs drop level x craft books. What I found out was some craft books drop less frequently than others. In maybe 8 hours of farming solo and then heroic mobs, I got at least half a dozen of every other book, but neither of these two (though, just to frustrate things, I did get Jeweler 27 and 30 quite often from stray lvl 27s and 30s that were in my way).

Luckily for me, the quest for a free advanced level 20-29 book was put in not much later. These are started by NPCs in the craft faction houses in WFP and NQ (not sure the other 3 cities) and award one tradeable advanced book from this level range for the trouble of some minor harvesting and crafting. It cannot be repeated. (Further luck, my friend also has a jeweler who didn't need either book and snagged vol 29 for me.)

If my rambling anecdote didn't put you to sleep by this point, I'd suggest you check out the EQ2 Traders site. Pretty much anything you'd ever want to know about crafting is there.

Thanks for that info. I've killed so many lvl 43s looking for this book they're none left/ Like you I got everything but what I need lol. Will try the craft house in FP maybe there's a quest I can do, otherwise your other suggestion looks like my last resort, except for patience.

There is no quest currently offering books higher than 29, but one for the 30-39 books is coming in the next Game Update:

"Grandmasters belonging to the tradeskill societies of the five starting cities now offer another quest for crafters level 30 and above who have completed their previous quest, Journeyman Service. Seek out Grandmaster Kawayzer (West Freeport), Grandmaster Kimbialis (Ironforge Exchange, off North Qeynos), Grandmaster Zyrythius (Neriak), Grandmaster Feldmanus (Kelethin), or Grandmaster Jayak (Gorowyn) to begin." [From the patch notes.]

Alas, this still leaves you in need of Adv. Tailor 43.

Another resource, if you're looking for something specific, is the EQ2LL site. Searching Adv. Tailor 43 gave me these results. Restricting your farming to the mobs known to drop this book (however rare) should, in theory, improve your chances of seeing it drop.
