Default Block AA - explain, please.

i don't know where to stick this so i put it here, as the questions i have are surely "noobish", but this is only so because i play on a russian localized server and the client i run was translated so badly it almost impossible to understand what some things actually mean (and no, it's not pirated server, sony actually runs and supports it, it just so happened that a client we all run here was translated by a local company which screwed big time).
so, the question is about guardians block aa ability - could somebody please reproduce its original english description here and, if you don't mind, comment on it re how it actually works. does it just work like dragoon reflexes blocking all melee attacks and aoe's not targetted at caster directly? or maybe it only blocks one of those? please help me here.

another question i have: could somebody please reproduce here the exact english name of that "orb"-like mob that adds during overlord fight in kor'sha temple (another bs caused by translation: we all see translated name, but it doesn't work in /target soandso macro's - need original english name for that).

thanks in advance.

welcome to the hell of eq2 localizations! sounds like, they employed the same dudes to translate your stuff and our stuff (although im not totally sure yet if they dont just use babelfish for that :/

for english AA-descriptions you can use eq2players (advanced char features required tho unfortunately) to check the basics about those AAs, but as for technical details from those AAs i cant help ya (did i mention theyre kind of fucked up in german as well?)

Block is pretty much a one shot deal. Unlike Dragoon Reflexes it only avoids (blocks) one direct attack and it's done. Also, if you use block and then fire off a combat art before it has a chance to be effective it will cancel the effect.

I have no idea what the Orb name is though, sorry.

It's either "a flaming draught" or "flaming draught" (The Overking Adds)

The Block AA ability allows the guardian to block the next incoming melee attack or any non-direct AoEs for a duration of 15 sec. iirc. Using a combat art ends the ability early.

Basically when you use it, it works like a single stoneskin against any melee attack (you just get a 100% chance to block it instead of absorb it). When you use it, it puts the "buff" on you. Unlike Dragoon Reflexes however, you are able to do anything you normally can do while the buff is on, but if you hit a combat art it automatically cancels the Block "buff". This does not apply to taunts, defensive abilities such as ToS, using potions, or using items.
