Ok, first off, i'm an old school scout with 3 scouts currently running in the upper levels.
What I want to do is something a little different, so I thought I'd play a pet class. I have searched the forums on Necros and Conjurors and found that really there aren't just 2 but 4 pet classes.
Since I mostly solo, and am not in a great rush to get to 80, I'd like to know which of the 4 pet classes is the most fun.
Definition of fun for me?

• A class that is easy to start up
• Easy to manage but has its challenges.
• One that I actually have to pay attention or I'll get killed.
• One that is adaptable to groups if I feel in the mood for grouping.

Oh, and the 4 pet classes i'm talking about were Necro, Conj, Illy and Coercer. If you think there's another I haven't mentioned, please bring it up....

If you want to be really thorough, rangers and both druids get animal charm AAs. Though, animals tend to make pretty horrible pets till T8.

Coercer or Illusionist is my opinion. Chanters in most games are slightly more challenging and require a bit more of your attention than the standard damage dealer. Admittedly, eventually it all boils down to button mashing. *shrug* Coercer's have the bonus of being able to change pets out on a whim. The others are pretty much stuck with a pet or two for that tier, heh. All of the classes you listed more or less fit, so you may need to narrow the list down further. Good or Evil? What race do you want to play, what starting area? Do you like straight damage, or do you want a little something extra? Solo or group play? Blah blah blah...and so on.

necro is retardedly easy to play. im assuming conj isnt much different. if youre looking for challenge, dont go with a summoner :P

Best pet class hands down is Coercer but you have to pay attention 100% of the time. If you want the best perma pet then go necro. Illy sucks for pet class the pet is all but worthless but it does take on some agro where you need it. Anyone who calls an Illy a pet class has never played a pet class especially an Illy.
