Default Raids and Healing

I'm mostly clueless about EQ2. I've played WoW for a few years. I'm curious if someone can compare the styles of healing between the two games, especially where raiding is concerned. To me WoW seems like a game of whack-a-mole where you have the entire raid on the screen and you click around healing people. I'm curious if this is how healing functions in Eq2 or is it more like having 1 healer responsible for each group? Feel free to give opinions on raiding and healing in general. I'm trying to figure out if I would enjoy myself more with Eq2 raiding.

Default Re: Raids and Healing

We usually have three healres in the MT group [templar, defiler & warden] who solely heal the MT. We then have one healer in the remaining groups, the class depending on the group make-up etc. I'm an inquisitor so tend to get scouts to heal. I usually only heal my group unless I spot that another groups' healer is dead. If everyone is alive and kicking and my group is full health, I'll dps as opposed to healing other groups.

There are fights where that's not the case, but for the most part, I heal only my group. I also played a raiding priest in WoW, and yeah, the healing is totally different.

It's about the same in this game except the healers play spam-wack-a-mole with cures instead of heals.

SoE thinks we enjoy spamming cures so much they are adding another cure to healers arsenal next patch!!!

If you are a non MT healer, you should be responsible for your grp, and help out on the MT when needed. You would think that most people would understand this at level 80, if they can't heal their own grp they don't deserve a spot in the raid.

When it comes down to it, healing is healing. Having shitty healers in your raid with you, is another problem altogether.
