Icon14 Best "Duo" of classes for PvP

A friend and I are recently switching to this game to kinda escape WoW and I know this is probably just as worse but hey... Atleast it's something new.

Anyway we were wondering what classes would possibly be the best combo and compliment each other the best; I've heard that Fury and Troub go well and I also have read that Swash or Brigand are also good instead of Troub.

I would like to know your opinion so we can level on the right foot from the start.

Swash/Brig with Fury/Warden is probably what you're looking for. Other than that, a Bruiser/Monk would work well with a Defiler/Mystic. If you don't want to play a healer, a Shadowknight/Paladin with a bard or ranger or something would be cool. Monk/Illusionist combo or Bruiser/Coercer would be fun. If you're looking for effectiveness though, go with Rogue and Druid.

Well jeez thank you, so many to choose from. Sadly yea I would like to be the most effective pair, at least the first time around.

Could I trouble you with the question as to why those pairs are good? (All the ones you mentioned.)

Technicalities aside, I chose Rogue with Druid because a properly specd Rogue, is good at both tanking and DPS, while the Druid can heal decently, have a good set of roots and snares, while also having good DPS.

Brawler works well with Shaman because the Shaman's main healing mechanism is warding, which jives with the Brawler's defending style of avoidance. This group also sports decent DPS from the Brawler and each player has awesome survivability (they are a fighter and a priest after all).

The Crusader and Scout seems to do well to me because the Crusader is good at surviving - lifetaps/heals, and plate armor, while the scout would provide the group with decent damage and track.

The Enchanter + Brawler combo is a little risque, I put those two together because the crowd control and mesmerize abilities from the Enchanter seem to compliment the Brawler's main weakness (given the lack of healer) which is ability to soak up damage. The Brawler could keep enemies off the Enchanter pretty well, too.

That last one is a little tricky to play though, if you're eyes are fixed on your KvD, Rogue and Druid is my suggestion.

Very interesting, thank you for all this information. As to what the other person posted above... Would Necromancer / Conjurer be viable in a duo of some sort? Like Necro & Troub? Or Necro & Assassin/Brigand?

Dont roll a summoner....Deffinetly get the rogue and Id take the warden over fury. In the long hall warden's have a way higher value than furys. Better heals, 45% run speed, and being the dominant pvp healer. Druids in general make it easier with druid ports as well. If you dont care about track than roll a guardian. Having a guardian/warden who are comfortable together are an amazing pvp combo plus its real easy to make groups.

Mmk now that summoner is out.. What about double rogue? Is that viable in any sense? Wouldn't the extremely long stun lock / DPS / Tanking ability compliment each other well?
(Double Brigand in particular.)

My wife and I enjoyed paladin/swash a good bit... Paladin/dirge or troub would probably do well.

2 Rogues would be fine but as far as being versatile, your simply limiting yourself to 1 classes abilities, with the added damage of a second person. Even to the point where if you both want scouts, 1 of you rolling a bard would still be better off than 2 brigs imo.

A buddy and I play a Swashy and Paladin respectively. Works well for us...good AoE...good combination of aggro dump and gain...group stealth...good combination of toe-to-toe and backstab...good combination of debuffs and buffs...a large number of stuns, interrupts, etc. And I'm a noob in this game too, although he isn't. I certainly can't complain about this set-up and we do very well against equal, similarly equipped/experienced players.
