Default Betraying to switch class

Made a warden as one of my first characters, and found out later that they mainly melee.... Thats not what i want. I want to cast...

but enough of the small rant. Now i want to know if I can betray to a city of the same alignment and get the class switch.

Or would i have to betray to the opposite alignment?

You can stay in the same city.

I'm assuming that, to do this, i have to exile, and then return. Could I do the same and switch to kelethin (from qeynos)?

and lastly, is there a helpful guide on how to do all of this? I'm somewhat new, so it would be a great help.

Thanks

You betray to exiled then you choose what city you want to build faction with or stay as exiled.

healers dps too.

As far as betraying and staying in your city, I think you can only do this if you are a nuetral class (which wardens and fury's are). For example a paladin can't live in an evil city and a sk can't live in a good one. I maybe wrong, but why else would we even have evil/nuetral/good any more if anyone can live anywhere?

Here is another noob question, I've never betrayed before so not sure how it works and it looks like eq2wiki is a little out of date.

Do all of your skills still go to app 1 even if you're not switching classes, just alignments? Would really like to betray my illy from kelethin to neriak because I hate kelethin and I'd like to get Bertox for diety, but its not that big of a deal if it means losing all my skills.

Switching Kelethin to Qeynos... no your arts/spells do not downgrade (just did it on my ranger)Switching Kelethin/Qeynos to Neriak/Freeport/Gorowyn (good to Evil) yes your arts are reset to app 1. If you are planning to make that switch it is best if you wait till the level cap moves again that way when you upgrade your arts you are only upgrading the few arts that are not level specific and then new arts you get as you level can then be made to Adept III.
