I have a 'noob' question about titles

(its probably not 'totally' noob but it is something I probably should know by now)

I want to get another prefix thing for Kaj ... I have Lord already (cause its much cooler than Baron, cause my name isnt "Von'Ratche" or "Davis"), wanted to get the Exalted so i went to the Mage tower in SQ...but it was grayed out, even though it was on the list. I got like 2mil status and plenty of money, so i know i can afford it ... but is it like a pre-requisite thing where i gotta get the other two crappy titles first?

Yeah its kinda Nubish, but i couldnt find out when i searched for it, if there was something i needed to get first....or is it cause i always do all four writs and therefore never tip the balance of my faction one way or the other too much...

You need to gain faction with the mages. I think for Exalted you have to be an Ally.

Then you should be able to buy it with your status / money.

Damn so i gotta stop doing stupid writs with the other stupid factions and just do theirs? Damn inefficient BS!

nah i dont think other factions affect each other anymore within the city factions for writs.

not 100% sure but i remember something along those lines posted awhile ago in one of the updates.

Xede is right, no other factions are affected by doing writs. You're confusing it with Maj'Dul stuff I think.

LOL No, i'm not...i did nothing in Maj'dul...i'm confusing it with the fact that i dont read those updates unless i see the words "Berserker" or "Mystic" mentioned. I am very self centered that way.

But if they dont effect eachother anymore how the damn hell is mine not high enough...damnit back to the writ grinding i guess.

Because you get 150 faction per writ, and you need +40 or 50k (i forget which) to be ally ;)

You gain a new title every starting at +10K faction and every 10K thereafter till you reach 40K (Ally). For example consider the Tunarian Alliance titles (I have them).

10K faction: Naturalist
20K faction: Pathfinder
30K faction: Outrider
40K faction: Wanderer

I know there is a post somewhere that lists all the titles for all factions. Also as you gain in faction you can purchase other items like ceromonial clothing and house items.

At the beginning of the game, doing a writ for one faction would slightly lower the other 3 factions. But yeah, they've since changed that.

LoL yeah Taea thats what i remember, i just figured they stopped showing me the stupid "Your faction with this decreased" messages becasue i stopped seeing "My faction increased" messages with my writs. Damn i gotta do alot more writs now...shit. well at least ill have plenty of Status at that point.
