Default Bruiser or Conj for a newbie?

For a brand new player, that has never played, which would be more newbie friendly? Casual player, doens't really plan on raiding at the end, but enjoys solo'ing mostly, grouping occasionally.

Lore wise, this new player (wife) has it narrowed down to these two classes.

Conjuror takes a little skill. Both are really fun. Conj was my launch main. Really pushed my multi tasking skill. Since then pets have become much much better. Bruisers are crazy fun and thats my main right now.

I'd go with bruiser over conjy to start out.

Yeah, bruiser is probably the better choice for most starting players. It's easier to survive, you can heal yourself and they don't take quite as much skill to be good at.

Yeah, but soloing as a noob was what we was concerned with.

Between a bruiser and conj for your first toon ever in this game.... I choose enchanter or bard, take your pick there's 4.

I got 12 toons, one of each sub archtype. Tanks take a reasonable ammount of skill, and conj was my first real class and they can be difficult / annoying to be good with.

Everyone loves a bard or chanter though. Level a class your interested after the fact once you've made some friends in game.

My main is a conj, and my alt is a bruiser.

I'd recommend the bruiser, simply because he has a bunch of survival abilities and feign death. Conjurors are harder to play well, as it takes more management of tasks.

Yeah, I ended up rolling both. Then an SK on top of that lol. So many classes in the game... I swear this will make me an altoholic. Either way, I've got my Conj to 18, Bruiser to 17 and SK to 14. Not sure which I'll end up with, but I guess it can't hurt to just play them as I feel like it.

I know this question isn't on topic but, which class in this game seems to garner the most respect? In WoW it was the tanks, seems in this game it would be the bards, but that's just speculation on my part after reading through their abilities.
