    Default UI Mods Questions

    Hey folks,

Newbie here. I was a WoW guy many years ago and I loved using UI mods. I like customization and they were required for raiding. I'm sure there are some required mods out there if I'm ever to get into raiding on EQ2 in the future.
    • What are some of your favorite mods to use - for raiding and/or everyday casual play? Any preferred sites to get them from?
    • What do I need to do to get them installed and working? I've tried installing one, followed instructions on how to create the folder and whatnot, but it ain't happening.
    Thanks!

    Advanced Combat Tracker
    DrumsUI
    ProfitUI

Pretty much all you need for EQ2 raiding. I prefer DrumsUI, others prefer ProfitUI. ACT can be used for raid AOE timers, spell timers, et cetera, dps or heal parses, et cetera.

    Thanks! Good to know.

Now, how do I get myself set up to get these things installed and working? I'm following these instructions, but I can't figure out what I'm doing wrong. I'm sure it's something simple, but if anybody has some pointers, that would be great. Even if it's just, "You're an idiot and those instructions are good", that works!

    EQ2Interface : [DrumsUI] Updater : [DrumsUI] Updater

Use the automatic updater for DrumsUI, probably easiest. Choose your EQ2 folder and let it do its thing. Not sure what class you play, but healers seem to prefer ProfitUI. "Sorry guys, my click to cure is not working, I need to log out." Profit requires you to edit a text file in the UI files for, what I call, your 'quick click' keys. In DrumsUI, you need to know the spell code and the proper formatting -- and can edit in game. I no longer have the list, maybe Drumstix42 can post them?

For ACT, you need to know where your log files are after you've turned on logs in EQ2. Type /log and you should get a message saying logs are either on or off. Afterward, you point ACT to the log file, select the proper plugin (English, EQ2 is probably what you want). Most of it is self-explanatory if you're using the automatic installer for DrumsUI (or if there is one for ProfitUI -- or the other interfaces out there). ACT is pretty easy to install if you read what it's asking for, particularly the start up wizard.

Raiding guilds have different things they like to use, which, if you join one, they'll probably let you know where to get the shit they want you to have, like Guild Connect, Volte, Ventrilo or that other voice program.

Many thanks! After some tinkering, it looks like I got everything working OK.
