I can tell you this, there are lots and lots of people in beta who are having trouble with just the patcher itself.

One response from one of the GM's was trying changing your station name, you CANT change your station name. Glad to see SoE is running a great project once again!

A good thing about sony running it is the stationpass. If the game turns out to be as bad as alot of people are saying its going to be, just cancle the stationpass. Gets rid of 2 games with one stone. Then you can just hop over to the world of warcraft. But on the other hand ive seen alot of good that can come out of this game, so we will see.

/agree It looks ok, sure it's laggy, but I can forgive laggy in beta. Biggest problem is, it's just not fun. I'd rather level alts in EQ2 than play beta in Vanguard.

Well you know they are running it in that movie in the highest settings to show off the graphics, on lower settings the game runs fine for me but it does get laggy at times, but what beta server doesn’t? all betas suck for these kind of things because it's a junk server not meant for handling loads of players.

WTB Vanguard beta invite. I'd love to check it out after watching this video. Yeah, it sucked me in. I am taking a "wait and see" approach, possibly picking up station pass to try out some of this stuff.

I hate the stress that comes with contested mobs, but when KoS first came out and everybody in the game was crammed into a single instance of SoS, I realized how much I loved dungeons over instances. The lack of instancing will be huge to the social impact of the game. I hate being alone, whether in RL or in a game. I love it when people are going back and forth, firing off stupid funny shit in /shout.

For PvP Darkfall (google it!) will OWN Vanguard. Darkfall is totally built for PvP, almost the exact same ruleset as UO, everything is crafted (there are "raid" mobs but they drop components that can be made into armor and weapons, like a dragon won't drop a dragonscale tunic and a dragon eye orb, but it will drop dragon scales and dragon eyes which crafters can use), full naval combat and siege warefare. If a player can build it, another player can destroy it, steal it, or scam them out of it.

Also if you look at their forums, they have only slightly harsher restrictions than this site. Beta should finally be out by the end of the year.

What about raiding in this game, they don't talk about that at all and damnit, that big of a world is gonna be a killer to keep on lockdown.
