Ok who's planning to play this? Either hard core or casual post here because I want to group with some people. I have a human (freeport) wizard. First time ever running thru classic eq btw.

For anyone who wants to get this server up and running I'll post a link to a guide here. It's pretty easy. (if this is against the rules or whatever please delete it but pm me that you did if you get the chance so I can pm the ones who ask.)


EQEmulator: Play Guide

Server = CKV_EQ Classic [Debian Linux]

The guy who runs it seems really cool.

If anyone can't figure out this guide just pm me and I'll explain it but it's pretty easy.

If you don't have classic eq1 I can send the file to you I guess.

Oh yea btw there is no patching at all so installing the game takes the longest. If you start installing the game now you can be playing in less than 20 minutes. Just make sure you do not patch to live EQ!!!!

mr. o rly owl. I created a Paladin in freeport currently level 2.
I will be making a box enchanter as well. possibly a 3 box shaman. but if laodaron gets in this ill skip the shaman and let him do teh healing.

Currently I only really have random times between 12pm and 7pm to play as well as week ends.


Paladin is named Rinion btw, to lazy to pm u on the other forums. enchanter will probably be Xanthe

Hmm, I dunno, if I were going to go back and play EQ again, what to play?

Ranger? Been there, done that, Disco'd about 95% of the ranger items in the game until Luclin..

Tank? - If I did it would have to be an ogre for the frontal stun immunity and sta, but I remember what a pain in the ass it was to get around Guk and even Sol Eye as an ogre, unless you had a willing shaman around...

Trilogy? That means Original, Kunark, and Velious? Man, that is a TON of fucking content - people that only played eq2 don't realize how huge the zones and expansions were in EQ....

That seems like a lot for a small emulated server... With the old hell levels... I would hope this server could either A. Take that kind of bandwidth hit and B. Actually find enough people to play at times when grouping would be wanted.

I'm almost tempted to make a monk and play again..

EDIT: Calb, PM me and I'll start a character with you this weekend if I can dig my EQ boxes out of storage. We'll terrorize some fucking beatles in NRO.

Well ClassicEQ has 2000 hearty people waiting to play, and they havent even got a server yet... im sure once they learn that Wizzel is a fucktard they'll transfer or at least consider it.

playtime will be mostly during the day

I'm gonna definitely be a Barbarian Shaman. Plus, the Shaman Epic is fairly easy lol, relatively speaking.
