Well am I the only one who thinks AOC is actually pretty fucking poor?

Great graphics aside, what else is there, the combat system seems to be a exercise in clicking combos nonstop which seems to me far more appropriate for a console than it does for a PC game.

The lack of community within the game itself is very bizzare, most of the time I feel like I am playing a solo game, just doesnt seem like a MMO to me, and yes I am beyond level 20.

I'm kind of depressed about the whole thing, EQ2 is boring me to death, AOC in my opinion is a one trick pony that will soon get old fast and there's nothing else out there that even remotely seems decent.

dissapointments about aoc:

1 many bugs and glitches
2 many game mechanics not/partly no function
3 armor useless
4 spell/combo/ feat system unclear.
5 end game unfinished
6-10 the UI, specially poor social stuff.
etc etc

But atm I am still enjoying the "newish" atmosphere, so they have at least one more month of fun for me.

It's called instancing, it's the reason you aren't fighting over named spawns, waiting on nodes, and lagging horrendously.

From what I've seen, not likely. It needs a lot of work, all new MMOs do at first, just look at EQ2 and WoW. That aside it's something different and it has a lot of potential.

If you want the "one click smites the mob down" thing, then this game isn't for you. If you want to have the game do 90% of your attacks for you, Pick one of the 70 other games out there. If you want to spend the time and set up macros, use a macro keyboard or autohotkey, you can make this game do that for you, but it's not going to happen right out of the box.

You haven't encountered a community in the game because you haven't tried, or even bothered to go looking for where the groups of people are playing. You could always pop up the instance window and choose the top/most populated one, and that would be a start, but an even better choice would be to get out of most of Aquilonia and head to Stygia and Cimmeria where the majority play.

I am frustrated with the bugs, but I know they're only temporary.

EQ2 is boring you to death? Yeah, one click every few seconds and getting the exact same response every time for 5 years will bore anyone eventually.

Nope i'm right the more I think about it the more I am convinced its a pile of wank that will soon be yesterdays news.

Like I said before, seems to me they had the XBox360 in mind when they made the game. Some people may get off on it, but personally I can see a lot of the quoted endgame content like sieges, player cities coming nowhere near peoples expectations.

Ohh and the actual Conan community is fucking shocking, the forums themselves are nigh on impossible to read because they consist of seeningly kids shoting WOW and Noob and wtf ever else over every topic. As for the in game community as of yet I havent seen one.

i can see alot of people not enjoying this game for a few reasons

as been said its not a button mashing game its a thinking game at some point so not sit there button bash and i think the main down side is the pc has to be very good to enjoy the full look of the game why spend out $ on a game to then do it again on a pc upgrade to play it ?

personaly i enjoy the game its diffrent and tbh eq2 is a old game now its nice to see what the next mmorpgs will look like and play

im sure eq3 will be along soon lol so every one will have to give that a go as well

Actually alot of us are. Check the tech forums and see how many people have high end systems and get constant lag spikes or 10,000+ latency / low FPS.

Ive gotten almost to 26 in constant lag. No idea what my breaking point will be, but if they dont fix it soon. I imagine ill be canceling my account in the near future.
