I'm surprised that even the most hardcore EQ2 fanboy and AoC hater could believe EQ2 is possibly, in any way imaginable, better than AoC. /boggle

AoC has awesome graphics but the complete linearity of the game is driving me nuts. Oh and I am tired of killing humans and animals over and over again. The game has promise, especially if you like the sword and sorcery genre. I prefer high fantasy with the expectation that I will encounter mobs that pique my curiosity. The PvP aspect of the game does seem promising, but I am not a PvPer.

AOC in my opinion has a serious case of the emperor's new clothes. Unless I completly missed something, apart from the graphics which are really good, the rest of the game is complete crap.

The much talked about combat system is just another clickathon, just like all other MMO's, I see nothing unique that changes the way you play the game, its just a more tedious way of doing combat if you ask me.

Its funny I see a lot of people talk about the combat system and then follow it up with shit like, I have a G15 keyboard and macro the combo's, so in essence they are basically reverting back to the standard MMO mechanic.

The grouping is awful, everything seems a zerg fest with zero tactics. Granted EQ2 isnt much if an improvement over this but its still more interesting than every class simply attacking 99.9% of the time.

Seems to me that there were lot of people totally fucked off with EQ2 and are desperate for something new even if its crap, just as long as its not EQ2.

Personally I am bored with EQ2 but I know for sure that if I hadnt been playing the game for 4years and I picked up both AOC and EQ2, that i'd enjoy EQ2 way more than AOC.

It comes down to what you look for in an MMO, AOC just seems so watered down to me, some core aspects of MMO's like gear meaning something really dont matter. If you think EQ2 is bad for itemisation then AOC is either completly broken or they dont want gear to mean anything.

AOC will be great for XBox360 owners to jump online and hack/slash upto lvl 80, the game was made with console style players in mind. For me for now i'll just stick with EQ2 which has major content problems at present but I gurantee when the expansion comes out, all those people who jerked off over AOC etc will come steaming back.
