In my eyes the combat system was one of those decsions. I still firmly believe that when the 360 version comes out it will play far better than the PC version in terms of the combat (not that difficult imo).

Golly, they planned this "console" combat system
at least well over a year before they were even given the green light from MS to make a version for the 360! The game was in development longer than that too, but I'm not sure when they first planned the combat system. Regardless, it seems clear that the PC version was the primary focus from the start, and the combat system was simply to get away from the annoying auto-attack shit!
