I didn't go in expecting "the messiah" of MMOs. I expected another LOTR:O or Tabula Rasa... games that looked ok on paper, and were worth a shot, but not expecting to take on the crack fiend style play that I had in eq1 and 2. I guess that since i'm not "hardcore" anymore, just about any game will do, unless it's just a piece of crap or has some obviously unappealing aspect to it (graphics, or bad gameplay)

AOC was worth a shot, and I'm still shooting. I would enjoy something else just as well, but AOC has a core that works well for me right now.

In this generation of gaming, I'd say that AoC will continue to be a contender, though probably never garner the subscribers of other, crappier looking games.

the game is far better then WoW or eq2 at their launch.

If you can log into another game after playing AoC for a couple of weeks your a better man then I.

Other games looks so childish, and cartoony its not even funny.

But then again, there are allot of kids that like cartoons and stuff

i dont play wow for the cartoony graphics or to play with 12 year olds, i play because it is unquestionably better than another other mmos, i just dont waste my time with this new shit that comes out, i let my wow acquaintances test them out for a month or two and report back on how shitty they are.
stick to valve, blizzard and ea (sports only) if u want to get ur money's worth.

i did... selling my my lvl 55 assassin and 30 necro on dagoth with around 2g... i preordered - grinded and then i got sucked into the suck.

getting up to 45 is ez mode but after that you run out of quests and gotta solo grind solo mobs up... even more retarded than RoK.
that was when i stopped up and said: "wtf?" and left
