It really doesn't matter what people say or think about a game, released or not. If you love the franchise, you'll love the additions. Diablo 3 is going to be killer, and nobody is going to change my mind on that.

Same with Oblivion and Fallout 3. I thought Oblivion was good. Oversimplified and tedious, but I play games for the loot, and it delivered. Same with the D franchise. It's simply going to rock my Diablo-loving face off.

For anyone thinking of picking up DII again, there was a laddder reset around 2 weeks go.

Not everyone is running around with completely overpowered runewords and items yet. It's a good time to restart and be on a relatively level playing field.

I think Orochans post summed up the game for me, it's unbalanced, some items and classes are overpowered but it's a ton of fun.

The thing I like about Diablo II is that even though it's click click click click (maybe some typing if you're playing online) it's still quite entertaining. And I'm a sucker for fantasy stuff, and I really like the little movies that show between acts.

Yeah as always nobody knows for sure, I was jk with the 2012 thing. Hell does SC2 even have a release date yet?

As for people who are gonna load up for some D2 fun I did the same thing over the winter holidays (mostly boredom) and was kinda disappointed.
Probably because what really made D2 fun for me was multiplayer and I just did the singleplayer campaign, but the game just didn't seem to have that magic that it did years ago. I mean in retrospect it's a pretty fucking easy game, yeah yeah Hardcore/Hell whatever it's 2 buttons...
Oh well I'm not 15 anymore either so /shrug.

Great game, wasted many many nights on it, but 'Pinnacle of PC gaming' it was not. As Orochan pointed out it was unbalanced as hell and exploits/dupes were rampant at times.
