Default Question about AoC raiding

I didn't do a search so I am hoping there wasn't a thread already about this or this topic wasn't already extensively discussed. That being said, how is it actually? Please don't compare it to EQ2 raiding because I know how fucking awful it is and it surely has to be better than that. I guess a more detailed question would be, how is it in comparison with WoW, are the encounters more gear checks, are they scripted fights, maybe even some descriptions of the encounters etc.

It's a lot slower paced for some classes than others, hate build up really means something as there aren't many knee-jerk hate increasers or classes that increase hate significantly for the MT. There is a Pretty Clear MT Class, that when geared properly, and allowed to perform their role, really shines.

Still some bugged content, but overall not a bad offering so far.

I've been told they are extremely easy to bug out.

No, it's not even that good. It has the most boring itemization of any game I have ever played. Every raid piece looks the same. There are no gear checks at all except for the mt. And you really don't need any more than 2 groups for a lot of the encounters.

The crappiest itemization too, not just boring. Defense rating is pretty much just there for show.

Ramp, look at it this way.

Mages are built to AoE.

Tanks have no AoE aggro other than melee swings, which inherit an X inch range in FRONT of the tank.

They bounce too, if you can deal with the crappy FPS or latency spikes that Funcom seems oh so desperately trying to fix.

Yeah, we've server firsted everything in t1 legit in between the patches where they were all taking turns being made completely broken, but so far the first boss in wing 1 of the t2 zone is completely unkillable due to a bug and just resets to full hp at the start of phase 1 every time. So we're forced to enter wing 2 where you're expected to have already gotten gear from wing 1, and the going is tough.

As for examples, almost every fight is 1 boss, with adds that come out at intervals and sometimes in waves based on the mob's hp. All bosses have some kind of AE which you have to figure out how to avoid, sometimes its a dps threshold, sometimes you can't use fire damage, sometimes its just line of sight.

Its totally unfinished, but there is a shitload of potential here. Its still fun, even though you have to wonder each night if they even tested anything before launch. I really am enjoying it either way, and we'll be ahead of the game when funcom catches up and releases the next batch of (hopefully more polished) raid content.
