I had VG, EQ2 and SWG all downloaded and and fully patched through the station launcher in less than a day.

I went back to Vanguard after receiving a free month and lo and behold, they actually fixed the performance of the game! I run the game max'd with Ultra textures in 1920x1200 resolution. The world is beautiful. The character models suck although they are introducing new ones in August.

I do miss the PvP in AoC which was a lot of fun. I am going to roll a character on Vanguards PvP server tonight. In Vanguard, there are no safe places. After level 7 you can be killed anywhere, at anytime. A bit harsh but exciting! There is some type of "Infamy" system. I have no idea how it works.

The cool thing about Vanguard is the huge, huge world. Give it a look see.

Any other AoC'ers quit for Vanguard?

It's only DOA if you're too much of a pussy to handle a challenging, huge game. Other than that, you're spot on. It's not a game that shakes everyone's hand, so if you're expecting to be handed everything like AoC, EQ2, WoW, or Butt Pirates Online then you will continue not liking it.

It was DOA. It might still be limping along, but at launch, it was just abysmal. Bug riddled, empty world, broken quests, and no high end content at launch (with such fast leveling, that's inexcusable).

Also, the house system sucks hard. I don't want to have to deal with tradeskillers to build a damn house. Give me EQ2-style prefabs.

So being able to build your house on a lot of your choosing on any continent sucks hard?

I remember spending the better part of a month looking for just the right spot. I found the perfect view with amenities close to our (gigantic) guild hall (I was also helping the guild find the perfect spot for the hall). Since I spent a lot of time making friends in and out of our guild and knew plenty of friendly crafters, I was able to have all the parts fabbed for me at a very low cost. I also harvesting everything for my house by myself, so that also helped a great deal. It's a sprawling 2 story T5 Qalian style beauty. I even got to choose from three basic floor plans. I can see your point if you're new to the game though (not to mention it must be hard to get to know people with such craptastic disposition).

So yes, buying a manufactured home is easier but you'll have to live in the trailer park with all the other meth enthusiasts. I prefer the ocean view from my own individual house, thanks. It's a great place to launch my Caraval from too.

Yeah, I want a house on a remote island that I have to actually work to build. Why can't I pay Mexicans (Dark Elves) to build it for me, and get a good location near the subway station (rift stone)?
