There should be riftway stones at the housing areas (isn't 100% sure that there aren't.. but didn't find any last time I was at the guild hall).

Anyway, didn't we all cry easymode when they removed cross-dependency from EQ2 crafting? At least in VG it's not full on cross dependency. You only need additional tradeskills for houses, boats and guild halls etc.

The one I really wanted a house at didn't have one that I saw, but there was a Pegasus trainer nearby. It's still a hassle to fly out, though.

what's the state of diplomacy today vs. launch? did they ever integrate more into gameplay or is it still completely separate and unnecessary for groups/raids?

was the only remotely interesting or fresh thing in this game.

also, if all you want is to have a house in the wilderness in a remote area, I suggest SWG. more options, far better world, far better game.

Vanguard was crap on Arrival, doesn't mean it didn't get better. But still, crap at the start = low population = crap MMO.

That's the biggest problem it has now. It's made release level quality(well for a MMO), but it is extremely hard to change first impressions.

OP- The PVP server was a blast at release even with all the bugs and hacking. Now I think it's a bit sad, but I keep checking back in since I rerolled on Xeth, just in case it starts hopping again. PVP in Vanguard can be a fucking blast, but the world is so huge it needs a lot of players to really make you constantly feel in danger. One thing it always had going for it was the GM's weren't pussies. They used to broadcast that it was ok to kill anyone at anytime in any place repeatedly, have a nice day. I hope its still that way...
