AoC is a beautiful game to look at, but it has no depth. I can not stand the instanced world. Leveling is way too easy and the game has become boring.

I went back to Vanguard after receiving a free month and lo and behold, they actually fixed the performance of the game! I run the game max'd with Ultra textures in 1920x1200 resolution. The world is beautiful. The character models suck although they are introducing new ones in August.

I do miss the PvP in AoC which was a lot of fun. I am going to roll a character on Vanguards PvP server tonight. In Vanguard, there are no safe places. After level 7 you can be killed anywhere, at anytime. A bit harsh but exciting! There is some type of "Infamy" system. I have no idea how it works.

The cool thing about Vanguard is the huge, huge world. Give it a look see.

Any other AoC'ers quit for Vanguard?

I wouldn't mind trying VG again, when i was in beta it ran like shit, when released it ran like shit, but overall the game had potential.

Making boats was fun, till everyone wanted me to make one :P

Shame there's probably only 58 people playing it

Seradon has a lot of players on it as well. But Sartok is the only PvP server. I rolled a toon there last night. There were a few other noobies there as well.

my old server got merged into Seradon, i can still see my character on vgplayers

Yeah ill give it another go and see how the gfx performance has improved

I'm downloading the 6 gig beta client from fileplanet at 300kbps, becuase i couldnt bear to do it via the launcher. I'm sure it'll be a big patch but couldnt be worse than d/l 6 gig through the launcher.

lol, i loaded eq2 thru the launcher for my wife and I last week. 3... freaking... days...

I'm glad my wife didn't have VG... that woulda taken longer.

AoC died for me when I realized that half of the game was unplayable for my wife, post 40, so we were stuck in the same spot for level after level after level. And... rhino charge is freaking BROKEN... I one-shotted everything I pointed at, and that's just wrong. Hell, I'd have her pull 3-5 mobs and get them all bunched up and I could butcher all with one click. Terrible.
