Re: SoE's next game to fuck up...
It actually looks interesting - I really like the concept of it. I just hope the 'classes' you can be are templates of current superheros. It would be cool if you could have superman's flying ability, spider man's grip and batman's car or something. I just don't want to be a batman clone running around in a batman outfit - that would be cheesy after a while.

Re: SoE's next game to fuck up...
I agree, it looks pretty good from what I read. They even hired a guy that used to run a comic book shop and his job is to just read every DC comic and tell the devs if they're fucking up the universe or not. They've also got Jim Lee on the art team.
And no matter how much SOE fucked up both SWG and EQ2, I've still had more fun in those two games than any other MMO. They know how to make good games, they just need to figure out how to keep them good.

I agree with the original quote but had to edit it for myself. I don't think I've ever seen a concept for an SOE product that was bad in and of itself but for some reason, the execution is oft times wanting. I still submit the two games as potentially two of the greatest potential MMO's if not games ever made. Both had everything they needed but had key screwups that hampered overall development and ultimately killed them.

How does it leave things wanting when most of the people on this site have played it for 2+ years or are still playing.
It also comes into play that most of the people on this site are bandwagon tools.
I agree completely with you Cupcake.

When basic game components missing at launch (pvp being the most prominent, not even being released until 2 years after launch) It's not that hard to say that they've left people wanting. When you change basic game dynamics (mitigation, stat calculations, the ability to kill the exact same mob you killed the week before the expansion that is now suddenly out of reach for 2 weeks until you re-gear) every freaking expansion, you leave us wanting. Sure we played for 2+ years. When our other mmo options were a series of failign mmos and a cartoon, we take the best of a poor selection, or stagger around drunkenly passing from one mmo to the next hoping that the next leap will be the leap home. And that will continue until developers figure out that you should worry more about making a good game that works, with basic things that people care about, rather than try to "change the face of mmo's as we know it".
I'm looking forward more to inFamous a single player hero game than another hero mmo, probably because the last hero mmo i played was more focused on Costume parties than actual gameplay.

Re: SoE's next game to fuck up...
Probably because PvP wasn't decided as an important feature for MMOs before WoW implemented "FPS style" PvP, and so they realized that it was a good feature, they tried it with the Arenas in DoF(failed horribly), so they went the next step and added full PvP.

It's funny, because you weren't complaining until everyone else was.

your half assed reading and participation in this board doesn't mean I never talked about things I was disappointed in RE: EQ2. You showed up a couple months ago going "who remembers me from years ago?"
I do. I remember plenty, we were in a fucking guild together till you couldn't make it through the app process for being such a twatwaffle, and that's why i don't really care about your opinion.
