That's been my experience since deciding RoK was just too much. I just can't get into WoW. Doesn't help that after 10 minutes on any server guild invites from 12 year olds start. PvP is just zerg exchanges, people don't even defend their groups. A group of five is attacked by 3 or 4 people and one person's left to try to solo the fight..

Level 30 in 10 days... no wonder the kids like it.

AoC and every MMO is going to end up getting the 12 year old treatment. Their moms will buy them the game, they'll log on on riday nights and spam general chat with "ooh, wow is so much cooler"... if you played Tabula Rasa in the first 2 months, you'll know what I mean. general chat in that game was filled with more people going ooh "wow is cooler" than people actually talking about TR.

Would it suprise anyone at this point to find out that WoW hires trolls to hit forums and play games just to pimp WoW? They probably don't need to, there are plenty of people out there who volunteer to do it for them, but it wouldn't suprise me to find out that they hired some folk to do it, too.

Folk who think wow is so great that they have to come tell everyone in non wow forums about it constantly lack some basic desires to see their own game improve. Blizzard learned things from other games, and will continue to do so. if you want WoW, or any other game to succeed and entertain, you want innovation, not just the same same same.

I play WoW. It's good filler until something more entertaining comes up.

There is no avoiding total fucking retards in MMO's now. WoW has opened pandora's box. It is the stepping stone for the completely inept rung of online gamers to enter the larger world of MMO's. All we can hope for is that certain game's are challenging enough that very few of them make it to max level, and our trials in dealing with them will not persist.

While AoC has a new style of combat, I seriously doubt it will be "that game" which thwarts off the hordes of brainless children who sprung from the seeds of battle.net. The mounts, in-depth PvP, and nudity (which I've seen less of in AoC than in any God of War game, mind you), will make sure of that.

Regardless, I've pre-ordered and pray profusely that, in the least, the WoW-washed masses will not be able to keep up with my leveling pace.

The thing with WoW is it introduced probably 90% of it's population to the MMO industry so it's there holy grail of MMO's and they expect everything to be copy and paste of WoW to be good. It's a alright game but it was just so basic for me. As a rouge I would spam sinister strike 5 times then click the combo attack, zzzzzzz.....

I don't follow MMO's in beta since there reputation is just ran through the mud by WoW fanbois like this Borr douchbagg. But AoC looks like it will be a good game as long as it's not released broken to shit like Vanguard was.

And why are people making such a big deal about the maturity level of AoC? When was the last time you played a game other then some fairy fantasy game? Just about every game these days has plenty of 18+ content.

The nipples weren't designed just to bring in the male audience, you cuold do that without showing anything so long as good looking women are in the game. It's just a side fact of the game being more mature, meaning not shying away from the thought of nudity, because honestly, who cares?

WoW kicks the shit out of any mmo currently on the market, I have played just about all of them. Also, this is coming from a guy that used to bash on WoW all the time, after I really gave it a shot, and started a character with a friend that had a couple 70's, there was no turning back.

WoW art direction sucks balls. And while this is completely opinion based, it still proves with 100% certainty that WoW doesn't kick the shit ouf of every MMO on all levels.

AO, EVE, SWG, EQ2, Vanguard, TR, LoTRO and many others are already better than WoW simply based on the fact that they don't look like they were drawn by a coked-out monkey with crayons.

But that's the thing, how we judge MMOs is completely subjective. You could think that WoW night elves are the epitome of artistic beauty and that is a fine and dandy opinion. Or you might think that graphics don't matter for shit, so WoW still kicks ass. And that's fine too. But it's all subjective.

The only thing that is a FACT about WoW is that it is more commercially successful than any other MMO. Everything else is opinion.
