Questions about AoC.

Can you build/sail boats life in VG?
What is housing like?
Is it a big open world like VG or zoning every 2 seconds like EQ2?
How fun is combat?
What is the setting?
Will it be ready for launch?

Thanks for the info. I am looking forward to trying this out. I love the idea of a different combat system other than our typical auto-attack and spam spells. Altho Tabula Rasa was disappointing to me, it was one of the more recent games to make combat a bit more challanging and/or different. I also love the "low fantasy" feel of AOC, as well as the seige battles and mounted combat.

Dunno, don't think so. There will be different kind of mounts tho.

What is housing like?
There will be guild cities: Yes. Players can create entire cities and fill them with different kinds of buildings. There is also a town hall in each city that can be used as a gathering point or social hub or meeting hall, whatever your guild would like to do with it.

It is not one open world, you will have to zone to get from continent to continent.

How fun is combat?
I love it, it is alot more challenging than other mmos, cause if you are in a critical combat situation with alot of mobs, you need to counter your combos right, if you don't you have a big chance of dieing :P

What is the setting?
You mean graphics?
This is me running on high settings 1680*1050 4aa, 4af. FPS in left top corner. Here

Intel Core 2 duo @ 2.66ghz
4gb DDR3 ram pc10000
GeForce 8800GTX 768mb ram
2xRaptor74gb 10000k RPM in raid

Will it be ready for launch?
My guess is yes. Atm Funcom is working very hard on getting the game ready for launch, the patches are massive, and you can really feel the smoothness when you enter the game again after a patch. There are still some bugs, but they will get fixed in time =)

But how often do you zone? And by setting I meant like sci-fi futuristic or medieval. Looks to me like medieval but want to know the specific setting.

I guess the zoning is pretty much the same as eq2's big areas in RoK. But I zone freaking fast compared to eq2. Yes it is medival/babarian style.
