They weren't. Their aim is 250k subs. M rating is just a marketing gimmick anyhow. There were paid strippers in SWG, ratonga hookers in EQ2 and thongs in AO. It didn't stop anyone from playing the games. The same people will play M rated MMO that play all the others. I doubt that the people who think their children will be irreversibly damage by seeing a nipple can read the warning label on the box anyhow.

I was doing a solo dungeon crawl in AoC and came upon a woman who was chained up by the wrists in a dungeon, naked from the waist up...with nipples. It was.. definately a unique sight for a mmorpg..heh. Sort of on the edge of animated porno bondage. I actually stared at her for like 5 minutes, so imagine a raid party of guys coming up on her.. oye.

Hmm... make the "pin-up" girl the raid gathering point, and you'll probably find most raiders forming up long before scheduled raid time.

Wonder how many YouTubes of roommates being busted fapping to screens will be posted after AoC goes live? lol

All the M rated stuff was kind of a turn off for me. The blood is cool but I honestly don't care if npcs have no shirts on.

The novelty of adult situations usually wears off faster the older you get, so I'm guessing you may notice that it is often the "less-worldly" players who will spend more time obsessing about certain fake pixel formations than the hardcore jaded players will (yummy, nothing so sweet as watching innocent dreams being crushed by reality!). Quite likely most of those annoying "morans" will be left /ignored back at the taverns while the l33t move forward and slay the dragons.

One thing: I do appreciate that high-end vid card owners are going to be rewarded with some gorgeous eye-candy instead of cookie-cutter character/mob models with the same blandly generic armor patterns and colours.

That's because it was a girl with her shirt off...

Side Note: I will try WAR, if it sucks...it is the end of MMO's for me more than likely.

If it didn't matter to you, you wouldn't be turned on OR off by that fact. Instead you've just mentioned being turned-off, which suggests not liking the fact that they did it to begin with.

All games market with sex, get over it.

If I was a raid leader, and I saw that people got on early because I made the starting point by the naked lady, I'd make that the starting point for every raid. Some people need that extra motivation, it's horrible heh.
