When it comes down the nitty gritty of the buffs vs buffs a Paladin is the perfect OT in the same way a Guardian is the perfect MT.

That's exactly the point. As a brigand, you would rather have a zerker in your group than a pally.

Just have to find somewhere to squeeze in the conj and wiz procs now....

Aye, most definitely I would rather have a Zerker over a Paladin. Other then maybe a Guardian I would rather have any fighter over a Paladin unless I needed amends.

I remember the day when we were rezmonkeys... I was so ticked when our Dirge got my uber rez and thought he'd jockey for my thankless raiding job... I was actually stoked when they upped the recast timer and dropped the proximity on us.

I don't miss being the rezlacky one bit. One less excuse for why that Guardian is in my spot. /grin

well on the subject of tanking, IMO paladin has more agro control than any other class right now. why? we get amends AND sigil of heroism. hell we could be afk the entire fight getting a beer (we tell them to wait a sec they just dont listen /sigh) and then the MT dies as we get back, because we had amends on someone we can have agro with rescue + sigil and if that doesnt cut it, just start beating the mob, done. only other class with such snap agro control is guardian and that is only if reinforcment is up. hell if your amends target is dumping enough hate you may not even need to use sigil or even rescue, just hit the mob a few times and its mad

Currantly we do... have a great guard and great zerker meaning I'm only raiding when one or the other doesn't show; else i'm on reserve... still doesn't change the fact we pwn all other tanks at OTing.

there will always be a stigma that paladins are not as good as guardians or even berzerkers.

guardians and berzerkers get their own agro and they get plenty of it, thats very nice. what people fail to realize is that with an amends target who knows what hes doing, you can throw down much more agro over time then a guardian or berzerker can.

my previous statement is a blessing and a curse. if you dont have a good amends target, you gotta work very hard for that agro, you then become about as good at picking up agro as SKs, Monks, Bruisers. you know, those classes that never tank because pretty much everyone knows they are screwed.

not only that, but even though we easily possess the defensive tools to be a main tank, were often discarded for guardians and berzerkers because they can generate their own agro and a good amends target in a traditional MT group is difficult to find.

the bottom line is this, Paladins own the offtanking gig, we can even better at picking up agro over and over again than guardians are in long fights, a good amends target and a good paladin will pick up adds and be able to hang onto them while others dps them down.

if they made amends raidwide targetable, we'd own the maintank gig too.
