Default Favorite non-raid bow?

I like Raincaller still at 70. What do you guys think? The stun makes for kitting fun and can sometimes get quite a bit chewed into a mob on a pull before it even makes it over. I've not really looked over what else there is available to non-raiders in the way of bows since I've been so impressed with this lil guy. It still seems to proc even on orange mobs.

Any suggestions?

Raincaller IMO is far better than the one from Unrest in terms of ranged damage. The Claymore series bow is better than both of the above also but I forget which subquest it's from (and most Paladins back in the day didn't take it because we couldn't use Bows then IIRC).

It's one of the first quest, the shadow bow of bylze, or something like that, the other options were the kite shield and the tower shield of bylze. But I prefer raincaller

The Blyze bow out DPSes Raincaller and Torn Ligament longbow or whatever it is called out of Unrest - bigger crits.

The best bow needs to be determined much like you do the best weapons. If you are a high crit class, then you want a LONG delay bow with a huge crit range. If you low crit range, then you want a short delay bow with a high average damage. Since Paladins typically can not get much in the way of range crit, something like the rain caller is fine for us (though it sucks for raiding, the stun can and WILL cause you problems).

The Unrest bow / bow from claymore / Grizzfazzle's would probably be the better bows for paladins as it wouldn't be a better bow for a ranger/assassin and would serve the purpose for us rather well (pulling and occasional ranged fights) and as long as you are not raiding rain caller is decent as well.

the main reason i would prefer a bow with such a high end even w/o crits is that usually i still spell pull instead of bow pull out of habit, and i dont wear a bow normally (misty protector FTW), would be the chance for a good hard hit on pull for some burst agro. usualy by the time the mob is to me im casting spells or my auto attack is refreshed anyway so having a delay on that wouldnt be such a big deal

My hits with Raincaller are always significantly bigger with Raincaller than with the bow from Unrest, not counting the proc. I ran with it and I might have been hitting 1000 or just over wiith it. With Raincaller, I was consistently hitting 1000-1500 or more, solo.

aye, but technically, raincaller is a raid bow as the final mob is an x2 mob (yes, it can be one groupped, but it is still a raid mob ;)). Even then I included it if you aren't a raider, but as a raider the raincaller is a definate no-no for a Paladin as it WILL (trust me, personal experience talking here) mess up your pulls. Not to mention mess up any illusionist/coercer and crowd control in raids.
