today i tanked phh, after the kill i checked the logs and noticed out of 74 attacks i managed to block 39 of them, now with all the gear i have i total up to 37% block, do the math on the numbers i just told you

39/74 attacks blocked = 52%, seem strange i do think so

Certain mobs (such as Woushi) seem to get blocked much more than others. But going off of 74 attacks really isnt a clear indication.... I'd try looking at 10,000 or even 1,000 attacks maybe before saying 37%block = 50%

yup, im gonna check into this alot more, ive been seeing alot of blocks in the logs, just never actually got a % base off of it before, now the instrest is sparked i'll get more detailed numbers in the next couple days

Sometimes you get lucky and roll those dice all night long without crapping out.

Our block boost from the hero line doesn't look like much on paper but, makes a huge difference. It's not just raid content. I went from getting ruled in CMM with two healers to laying waste in that zone with only half a team and one healer when I respeced away from healing and went down the hero line.

yes... when I first saw the EoF AA's in beta and heard about the block, I was somewhat skeptical. But in all honesty... the Dev's hooked us up with that change. That changed us from a 3rd or 4th string raid tank, that didn't have much of a role, to being able to tank epic content on almost equal footing with guards (I'm not so delusional as to say we do it better hehe) There are just so many people that look at the overall avoidance % and go "Paladins have less avoidance than guardians omgz" and don't really know wtf they're talkin about.

Btw... I drool at your freakin 37% block, that is awesome man.

Virutis, could it been that someone had their defense bonus on you, giving you extra chances to block? That might explain the extra 13% chance you were seeing (40% of 25%).

haha i have 37% block self buffed with my gear/adornments and aa, and i know it wasnt someone elses buff being very minimal on fighters that day

If a cleric or another fighter blocks attacks for you with their lend avoidance buffs, it will say their name in the block message, instead of you block.
