A number of our champions pioneered the first all Paladin endgame raid a little bit ago. This initiative gained tremendous momentum and matured into forming an all Paladin guild on the PvP Test server that is set on perfecting all paradigms of the Paladin class and prove what Paladins are made of. We named this guild after our worldwide chat channel, Paladins for Right.
----------------------------------
Most Saturdays nights, after our primary guilds are done raiding on the live servers, we will muster and raid late at night and/or test Paladin capabilities with new content. Be online on the PvP Test server before midnight EST (-5GMT) if you'd like to join the evening's tomfoolery.
The more we have online, the more awesome our target will be. We will attempt to officially plan a raid target at least once a month until it stops being fun and we will announce in this thread and on the crushbone.PaladinsforRight worldwide channel when we muster for these big events.
----------------------------------
If you'd like to join the campaign and roar from the mountain tops about how awesome your Paladin is, learning and teaching with the best in your class:
1. In-game type the command "
/testcopy add". This will add a copy of your paladin to the PvP Test server and the copy should show up sometime tonight or tomorrow morning.
2. You'll want to
click the "Test Server" button on the lower right hand corner of the patching "PLAY" button window that has character select dropdown list. This
will copy your EQ2 installation to a subdirectory of your EverQuest II installation directory called "TestServer"
and essentially install a second copy of EQ2 for you then patch it up with the Test Server stuff. Be prepared, this will take a long time and a little over 8gb of hard drive space. You only download the files nessesary for the test server. Most of the files will simply be copied from your current installation. Only a few hundred MB will need to be downloaded depending on your feature selection (under 100MB if you unselect optional voiceovers I believe).
3. Then
make a shortcut to "TestEQ2.exe" (nice new red launcher icon, instead of blue). This will be your game launcher for your test install. You can continue to use your normal launcher when you do not want to play on the test server.
4. "
/join crushbone.PaladinsForRight" as soon as you get in and let them know you need to be tagged for our uber Paladin guild. This channel has been the worldwide Paladin channel for many years and is the best way to keep your finger on the pulse of the Paladin community.
Some gotchas:
a. If you do not see your copied character on the character select window of the test launcher, make a new character on the PvP Test server then /camp back to the in-game character select screen. It takes time for you character to show up, sometimes a day or more, so be patient.
b. If you see some wierd characters in the test launcher character select screen that are inaccessible on live servers. They are simply ghost profiles that accidently got copied to your TestServer subdirectory. You can manually remove the troublesome profiles from your TestServer directory.
